Please help us raise funds to save our buliding

Hello, my names is cherish and i have set this go fund me up after being asked by the public how they can help, i know its q absolutely huge number but thats what we need to raise to save out buliding! Every single penny will help. Will we also be doing fundraising to help reach our total! We have untill may 2024 to reach the target....

Who we are. Jacobs’s well care centre Gosport.

We are a local charity set up in the early 1990s to help local people in and around the surrounding area of the south coast; we have overseas work in Romania and more recently Ukraine.

Jacobs well are a family run non-profit charity , the founders are stuart and Angela pottinger , their daughter lorraine pottinger is the manager , cherish pottinger is the grand daughter and runs the foodbank . Not forgetting Rogan morrill age 13 who is the charities child ambassador.

We have over 13 paid staff, as part of what we do is to give people a chance of inclusive employment; we have a diverse team here at the well. Jacobs well have put many people through their driving lessons and test.

What we do. We provide low cost /free furniture, we run a free school uniform project open all year round with over eight local school uniforms on offer, a storecupboard (foodbank) is open 4 days a week to provide food for families, we help anyone from refugees to people in receipt of benefits and working families or single people . An OAP food bank every Thursday includes a hot meal to take away for our elderly customers. Jacobs well offers low cost storage solutions with over 120 internal and external storage for people who need to store furniture urgently. We also do removals and clearances. Rogan runs a number of activities example free school meal in the summer holidays and Rogan’s bee happy packs.

Whom do we work with? We work with many different charities including but not exclusively saffa, social services, Hampshire county council, local schools, churches, faith groups, royal British legion, and local business, hospitals, occupational therapist.

Overseas work for over 35 years we have been visiting Romania and helping with a local village Zalu we have in the past set up 6 preschools in the villages, had a distribution centre for clothing .they are now more self-reliant nowadays and don’t need as much support from us.

Since the start of the Ukraine War last year, we have taken eight artic Lorries full of aid collected by the fantastic people locally. We have personally visited Ukraine 3 or four times, in fact Ian from the charity is there now taking aid direct to those who need it. We worked out very quickly that it would be more cost effective to travel there ourselves and take funds to buy food and medical supplies from Romania then take it ourselves into Ukraine.

As many of you know our charity base @Toronto place Gosport that has been home to us for the past 12 years, is now up for sale.

This would mean us having to relocate and find another suitable building.

We have managed to pull all our financial resources and stretch as far as we can to raise some finance towards the cost of purchasing this building but sadly fall short on the price asked.

So after a weekend of talks, prayer and listening to you.

We have decided to set up a go fund me to raise as much funds as we can so the charity we totally understand the situation everyone is in regarding the spiralling costs of everything. So please do not feel obligated in any way to donate, simply sharing this post will get the word out for and make a massive difference.
