Hello,
my name is Rochelle and I am Otis’ moma. Otis has 4 siblings, my beautiful children who cherish this guy so much
Otis is our family dog, best friend, anchor and protector. On October 15, 2024 we noticed a grape size bump on his gum-line, within 2 days it swallowed up one of his insider teeth. We made an appointment with our vet who after looking at it and doing blood Work declared it periodontal disease and sent us to a specialist. On October 30, 2024 we saw the specialist who declared that this bump, that now was roughly the size of a clementine and now was bleeding on and off was highly likely a malignant tumor based on how quickly it had grown in 13 days since the vets pictures he sent with the referral and his weight loss since that appointment of 10lbs. Surgery is out of the question.
on November 7th we went back to our usual vet as the specialist could no longer do anything for him.
he’s lost another 8lbs on this date and his blood counts are concerning.
they suggested end of life.
After speaking to several other vets and a few friends. The kids and I made the decision that unless he tells us sooner that November 22,2024 will be the day he crosses over the rainbow bridge.
Veterinary care is very expensive as any pet owner knows and between his first appointment and his specialist and follow up appointments and medication, I have spent just shy of 3600$.
the cost to have our sweet boy put to rest and his remains returned home to us costs just about 1300$ after taxes. This is mainly due to his size being a St.Bernard.
I’m a disabled single mom of 4 beautiful children, I have depleted our little savings we had and now need some help. Every little bit helps. With Christmas coming and the loss of our Otis looming everything is pretty bleak.
If you can help at all, by donating here or if your email me I can give you our vet clinic info so that you could donate there directly.
even sharing would help.
We thank you so much for reading. For sharing. For donating. For praying.
