Please help us get wheel chair accessibility
Through generous contributions from individuals and sponsors, Operation Vets with Nets is proud to provide cost-free fishing trips to disabled veterans who experience physical and psychological disabilities. We are truly grateful and feel fortunate to honor our veterans who sacrifice so much for the freedoms we enjoy every day.
As many as 250,000 veterans utilize mobility-assistive technologies. The boats we currently use are our personally owned watercraft supplied by our selfless volunteers who, at their own expense, provide veterans experiencing disabilities with some much-needed fishing therapy. Nothing breaks my heart more than turning away a veteran because we simply cannot accommodate a wheelchair. Part of our vision is “giving back to those who gave.” Unfortunately, we have had numerous requests from veterans with combat-related disabilities to whom we simply cannot give back.
We need your help! We can no longer tolerate turning away our well-deserving veterans. After months of research, a family donated a 1995 Godfrey Hurricane Deck boat that can be modified to accommodate our disabled veterans with wheelchairs. The cost is $15,000, so we are reaching out to you.
Since starting the fundraiser, we found out that the deck boat would not have worked due to safety concerns. We are now attempting to renovate a 26ft Tritoon.
Please donate and share this fundraiser with your friends and family. We know everyone is feeling the pinch of our economy, and we feel it too. Our veterans, many of who live on a fixed income, feel it too! No denomination is too small.
Operation Vets with Nets, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, is dedicated to providing outdoor recreation to our veterans experiencing physical and psychological disabilities through fishing. Our vision is to be there for those in need and to give back to those who gave.
With your help, we can reach our goal, so we will no longer have to turn away any veteran who needs us. Together we can honor those who have served and sacrificed.
Thank you, and may God Bless you, our country, and our veterans!
