Hello. My name is Karolina and I’m a wife and mother of two wonderful little children. I’m writing this with hope in my heart, because my husband has spent the last year doing something truly incredible — he has been building our family home entirely on his own.

No contractors. No construction crew - just him. Laying every brick, pouring every bit of concrete, hammering every nail. We bought the land, made the plans, and started building. Greg works tirelessly every day, often from sunrise to sunset, in all weather conditions — rain, heat, freezing winter. He’s poured his entire heart and soul into this house, not for himself, but for our children. His dream is simple: to give them a safe, warm, and stable place to grow up. A home to finally call our own.

Now, we are so close. The structure is done. He’s done everything himself — the foundations, walls, roof, plumbing — everything. We didn’t hire anyone. We couldn’t afford to. He’s done it all with love, strength, and determination. I’ve stayed home with our children to care for them while he works. But now, we’re at a point where we need help.

Despite all of his efforts, we simply don’t have the funds to buy windows and to finish the inside of the house. With rising costs and only one income — which mostly goes to rent and bills — we can’t cover the materials we still need.

We’re asking for £20,000, just to complete the essentials and finally be able to move in. Every penny will go directly into building materials — my husband will continue doing all the labor himself, as he has from day one.

He’s already sacrificed so much — his time, his health, his strength — all to create a future for us. But we’re at a point now where we can’t do it alone.

My husband and I have been working hard since we were 18 years old. For many years, we both worked 6 days a week, often doing 12-hour shifts. We never lived beyond our means, never went on expensive holidays, and saved every extra penny we could — all with one goal in mind: to one day build a home for our family.

I know this is a big ask, but if you can help, even in the smallest way, it would mean the world to us. A few pounds may not be much to most people, but to our family, it could change everything. You wouldn’t just be helping us finish a house — you’d be helping give our children a true home. They are such a good boys and all they dream about is having their own rooms and a garden to play in.
