My name is Kayla, and this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write. I’ve always been the one who gives, the one who helps when someone is in need — whether it was supporting schools, pitching in for community causes, or stepping up for a friend. Asking for help does not come naturally to me. But right now, my family is in a place where we cannot do this alone.

This past year has been one of the hardest of our lives. Our daughter, Kinley, has chronic medical needs that come with constant doctor visits, treatments, and bills. I’ve been facing my own health struggles, made worse by stress. Our family has also been dealing with sickness and challenges that have taken a toll emotionally and financially.

In addition to caring for my family, I work as a behavioral therapist for children. Recent changes in state licensing requirements mean I need to obtain updated credentials in order to continue practicing legally. The cost of new licensing, combined with ongoing training and certification, adds to the financial strain we’re facing, but it’s essential for me to continue providing for our children and the children I serve.

I’ve tried so hard to be strong, to hold everything together for my kids. But the truth is, I can’t keep doing it on my own. We need help — not just for me, but for the children who depend on me to keep their world steady.
