My name is Empress Strachan, and I have created this GoFundMe page in honour of my beloved uncle, who tragically passed away by drowning while on holiday on Tuesday, the 16th of September, at the famous Blue Lagoon in Malta. He was living his best life, enjoying time with friends, when he sadly got into difficulties in the water.

This tragedy has taken an enormous toll on us as a family. We believe his death could have been prevented had there been lifeguards in the water or on the Catamaran; my uncle, Iamlack, might have received the lifesaving help he so desperately needed.

We still have many unanswered questions about the circumstances of his drowning, the Catamaran company involved, why there were no trained lifeguards on hand, and why it took so long before anyone noticed that he was in distress. However, our main priority right now is to bring him home.

Every day that Iamlack remains with the funeral directors in Malta, the costs increase. This does not include additional expenses such as customs documentation, control fees, airport cargo handling, and security screening, among many others. The list is overwhelming, and the urgency to bring him home grows stronger each day.

We are now in the process of raising funds to repatriate him, but this too has taken a heavy toll on my family, especially my mother, Angel, who is also caring for her and Iamlack's mother, my grandmother, who recently suffered a stroke.

Iamlack was the most loving son, father, partner, brother, uncle, and friend. He leaves behind his beautiful 6-year-old daughter, whom he adored. Words cannot fully capture what a kind, joyful, wholesome man he was, but everyone who knew him can testify to the deep love he shared with those around him. When he wasn’t working, he could always be found listening to music day and night. To my mother, Angel, he was not only a big brother but also her best friend. His passing leaves a void in our lives that can never be filled, and our hearts ache with grief.
