Todd and I are doing this GoFundMe to try to stay afloat until SSI-Disability funds kick in for Todd and Knox. Todd had a couple of strokes last year, as most of you know, and we are blessed that he is still with us. I was blessed with a new liver in April after 2 years of many hospital visits, extreme pain, and being deemed disabled.

With that, I have to stay by the University of Chicago for medicines and follow-up appointments.

We had to sell our home very fast and are currently homeless.

We have been lucky to have had some savings and relatives to help us until now. We are looking for an apartment and are on many charity waiting lists, but with only a little bit of money in the bank and only my SSI monthly as an "income," no one is able to rent to us. We are desperately asking for a little help so we can have a solid place for Knox and for me to continue my transplant journey. This is hard for us, but Knox doesn't understand nor can he express his feelings being nonverbal. He has become very aggressive with us physically. And our hearts break for him everyday.

Anything will help so that our family can stay together and have some normalcy at this crazy time in our lives until we can stand strong again. And if you know us, we will!! Thank you.
