Please help to build a well for our loving Mother

‎السلام عليكم (Peace be upon you)

‎إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُون (Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’oon)

- “Indeed we belong to Allah and we will have to return to Him.”

My beloved mother, Rufjan Begum, passed away on the 8th of September 2023.

The Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: “When a human being dies, all one’s deeds cease, save three: a Sadaqah Jariya, [religious] knowledge (one leaves behind) from which others benefit, and a righteous child who prays for one.”

Furthermore, The Messenger of Allah (saw) was asked, “which charity is best?” He replied, “[Providing] water”. (Abu Dawud)

Our mother was a fighter, she was battling countless illnesses throughout her life. She suffered with kidney problems for over a decade, went through the procedure of dialysis, until she finally had a kidney transplant Alhamdulilah, she also suffered from diabetes and was an epileptic, and in her final days she was diagnosed with a life threatening cancerous tumour. Despite all these illnesses, she fought right up until the very end, she was a very strong woman, and she was of very good Islamic character, Masha Allah. She always prayed her salah on time even in her most severe conditions, and always reminded her children about Islam and how proud we should be to be Muslim. She always kept good relations with her relatives and her community, she was loved by everyone.

Our mother was of a gentle and loving nature, and in her passing, she would only want to be remembered as such. In her passing, she would want to give back to the community as she has lived. And so in loving memory of our beloved Mother, who touched everyone’s lives with her warmth, kindness and selflessness, we wanted to build a well, to provide clean and life sustaining water to people in desperate need of it, as a reflection of her life as she selflessly offered kindness to everyone in her life.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said “Sadaqah extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire” (Hadith, Tirmidhi). He also said that Allah offers relief on the Day of Judgement for those who give sadaqa: “The believer's shade on the Day of Resurrection will be their charity” (Hadith, Tirmidhi)

So, any contribution/ proceedings, whether small or large, will be greatly appreciated.
