One day in the life of TortoiseLand…

His arms chewed to the bone and bleeding to death in a cardboard box, Tikas was doomed.

Until an incredibly loving family saw the bloody box in a grocery store parking lot and called TortoiseLand for help.

When I saw Tikas, I cried.

I did not think he would survive the day. Worse, we had no funds to pay for the emergency medical care Tikas would need to survive.

Regardless, we blanketed Tikas with love, cleaned his wounds as best we could and hoped he would pass away knowing he was so loved and cared for.

But Tikas did not die!

He ate like there was no tomorrow and ran all over TortoiseLand like he owned the place. I knew from experience, though that without medical treatment, Tikas' severe wounds would kill him.

Though TortoiseLand had ZERO Emergency Medical Funds, we brought Tikas to Dr. Schacterly. She was stunned that Tikas was even alive.

After removing dead & decaying bone, muscle & skin and cleaning his open wounds, Dr. Shack feels that Tikas has an excellent chance to recover but we need your financial support as it will take several months of medical treatments restore his health and keep infection at bay.
