Friends,

This is my cousin’s child. My cousin is my person, my first friend, and someone I love beyond words. His family means everything to me and to so many others.

Last night, their world changed in an instant.

My cousin’s little girl was involved in a devastating accident Tuesday night. Another child threw rubbing alcohol onto a fire, and within seconds her tiny body was engulfed in flames. She was airlifted to Shands and has suffered burns over 40% of her body.

As a mother, I cannot stop thinking about the fear, pain, and heartbreak this family is experiencing right now. No parent should ever have to watch their child fight through something like this.

Josh and Rachelanne are the kind of people who spend their lives helping others. They are the first to show up when someone is hurting, the first to lend a hand, and the last people who would ever ask for help themselves. Right now, they need all of us.

Their daughter is facing a long and difficult recovery, and her parents will be living at the hospital for months while she fights to heal. The last thing they should have to worry about is how the bills will get paid, how they’ll keep a roof over their heads, or how they’ll afford to be by their daughter’s side every single day.

I’m asking you, from the deepest place in my heart, to please help if you can. Maybe it’s $5. Maybe it’s $10. Maybe it’s simply sharing this post so it reaches someone who can help. Every act of kindness matters.

Life can change in a single second. Today, this beautiful family needs a community to wrap its arms around them and carry them through the unimaginable.
