I’ve decided to do something a little brave (and slightly terrifying!) by taking part in a charity skydive to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

This charity means a huge amount to our family. When my grandson was born, he was diagnosed with a rare heart condition and needed life-saving open heart surgery at just 11 days old at Evelina Children’s Hospital in London.

As you can imagine, it was an incredibly worrying and emotional time for all of us. During those weeks, Ronald McDonald House gave my daughter and son in law somewhere to stay close to the hospital so they could be near their baby while he went through surgery and recovery.

They stayed there for six weeks, and the support they received made an enormous difference during such a difficult time.

Seeing what our family went through, and how much that support meant to them, made me want to give something back so that other families going through similar situations can have the same help.

So I’ll be jumping out of a plane to raise money for this wonderful charity!
