Please help the Hensel family

I really didn’t want to do this, but with everything going on I have to try to help my family.

Jakob lost his voice March 2022 and we were not sure what was happening, then September 2022 we got the devastating diagnosis of Bulbar ALS, the life expectancy of someone with ALS is 2-5 years. As most people know with ALS you lose all motor functions and the ability to look after yourself. Jakob has already lost 50 lbs, he struggles to eat, it is hard to watch this happen to someone you love.

Up until last year Jakob was able to work but as of now he struggles to lift his arm, holding a knife to butter toast is a struggle but he is Jakob and he is a fighter no matter what situation he is put into. He will fight until he literally can’t fight anymore.

We now have to sell everything we own just so we can make sure we can survive, that process is going very slow and we still have bills to pay. I am the only one working and I am not able to even pay our ridiculous rent.

As of right now Jakob does not get financial help from anywhere, he has no life insurance and this situation is scary.

I hate asking for help but this is for my family and I have to do uncomfortable things. I am completely lost with everything that is happening, I am trying to be strong but it has been a tough blow to our family.
