Alec, Sam, and the girls have welcomed a baby boy into their family. His name is Leo David and, as you can tell by the picture, is as cute as can be. Unfortunately, Leo has been diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), severe aortic stenosis, and severe coarctation of the aorta. HLHS is a rare congenital defect in which the left side of the heart is severely underdeveloped and incapable of supporting the systemic circulation. VSD is when there is an abnormal opening in the wall between the main pumping chambers of the heart. ASD is another name for having a hole in the heart.

Leo has already undergone one open heart surgery called the Norwood Procedure at the age of 5 days and will have to have 2-3 more in the years to come. The next will be the Glenn Procedure when he is 3-6 months and then the Fontan Procedure when he is between the ages of 2-5 Years old. These are just the surgeries we know of right now.

The Cinnamon family could really use your help right now. The hospital costs plus the time needing to be with their son and not at their respective jobs just do not equal out. If you can contribute anything, it would be much appreciated.
