Please help support Roy Gaton's family

Meet my beautiful neighbours, the Gaton family. Unfortunately, in 2017 Roy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bowel Cancer as well as growths on his liver and lungs. His wife Lina until recently has been working three jobs to try & make ends meet. Daughter Kimberley has just finished Yr. 12 & sat her final exams. For several months she has also been working part time & regularly caring for her young brother as well to help the family survive.
In 2013 Roy, Lina, Kimberly, and Joshua arrived in Australia as permanent residents to create a better life for their family. They arrived with minimum belongings and a “can do” attitude . Roy came to a full time Mechanics position and Lina found employment within a month. They both worked extremely hard, saving to buy their own home.
After a check- up in 2017 they received news of Roy’s devastating diagnoses. Their life then changed dramatically with countless exhausting trips to Adelaide from their home on Kangaroo Island. Each trip by car or bus & ferry taking over 4 hours each way & is over 200 km. Roy had numerous hospital admissions for operations & complications, along with chemotherapy & radiotherapy.
On the 12th November 2019 Roy, Lina & children proudly all became Australian Citizens.
In March, this year the doctors discovered that the cancer had become much more aggressive & spread to other organs. He was given three months to live. Lina had to severely reduce her working hours to become his carer & this need finally prevented her from working at all.
Sadly, Roy passed away on 23rd of November 2020 surrounded by his family.
I have set up this Go Fund Me page to support this amazing family in their time of need to help them cope while they are grieving. This money will be used specifically for his funeral & ongoing basic living expenses including fuel, rent, water, electricity & groceries.
This humble family would be so grateful for any help you can give.
