Please help support Renée's Fight!

Donation protected
Hi, our names are Megan and Stacy, and we are setting up this fundraiser for our eldest sister, Renée Penwarden. We hope to support her, her husband Stuart, and their two children.

After eight months of investigation, including numerous scans and blood tests, seven invasive hospital procedures, and 13 days of hospitalisation with pancreatitis, Renée was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.

Renée has since undergone chemotherapy and radiation treatment but, tragically, has been advised that the Cancer is inoperable.

We are all devastated but are not giving up the fight and will continue looking for options that provide Renée with a quality of life.

Renée's diagnosis is a dreadful blow for her and the family as they have already been through many challenges. Having recently supported Stuart, her husband, with his battle with bowel cancer, which, thankfully, he is now in remission.

Those who know Renée will realise how devastating this is for us all. Renée is a lover of family, friends and life, an adventurer with a wicked sense of humour. She is a contributor to society, humble, kind and generous.

Renée is a registered nurse who has been caring for patients for over 30 years. She is also a critical care educator, training many health care professionals in adult and paediatric advanced life support. Renee delivers training that ensures high-quality care where the patients come first and are treated with respect and dignity.

Renée cares deeply about her community, always helping those in need, and she also volunteered as a Resuscitation Officer at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Fighting Cancer is not only physically, emotionally and mentally exhausting, but it is also financially challenging.
In addition to everyday living, there are numerous extras, like many out-of-pocket medical expenses and medications (one of her medication scripts is $80 a pop). Plus, all the basic ones that add up, like car parking, etc.
Since August 2023, the family has remained on one wage, and Renée has exhausted all her sick leave.

We hope that our community will give something back to make the situation more manageable for them.
Whether your support helps towards treatment-related costs, household expenses or memory-making experiences, we thank you very much❤️
