Hi, my name is Rob and I am fundraising to support my brother who was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.

In September last year, our lives changed forever when my brother, Michael living in South Africa was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer.

The cancer spread to his liver, and since then, he has faced an incredibly tough journey: colon surgery, a chemo port procedure, chemotherapy, targeted Urbitux treatment, and most recently, a liver resection surgery.

Through it all, Michael has shown immense courage with the support of his wife and daughter. But being on sick leave, so he can focus on recovery 100%, has left him and his family without his regular income.

In South Africa they do not have a NHS, and the medical bills keep mounting up, even though they have private medical insurance their benefits have been depleted, and due to the specialists charging highier rates than what the medical insurance covers – this includes surgeons, anesthetists, treatments, and pharmacy costs – things have already added up to thousands of Pounds in debt.

They are attempting to negotiate lower rates and payment plans, but they still need to pay the outstanding accounts, adding more stress to him and his family.

They are now nearing the end of his treatment, holding onto hope for his recovery and a fresh start. But they can’t do it alone.

I am reaching out with a humble heart to ask for any support. Every contribution, no matter how small, will go directly towards covering these medical expenses and easing the burden while my brother Michael focuses on healing.
