Please help save the Garnet Cafe!

Hello friends and foodies of the Garnet Cafe!

I am reaching out for your help because the permanence of the Garnet Café could possibly be in jeopardy. I SO don’t want that, and I know you Garnet lovers don’t either! I’m hoping by doing so that we as a community can rally around two wonderful friends of mine, the owners of the Garnet Café, Kristin & Paige.

For reasons beyond our control, we must move our beloved café quite soon. Which really will be a good thing moving forward because everyone knows our current space is WAY too small. Everything from the kitchen, the dining rooms, no parking, no storage, no waiting room. As our community grows, so does the love for our food (which we are grateful for) therefore having a bigger and better space would be AMAZING for our continued growth and success.

BUT… moving takes money, and attaining lending for restaurants in a leased space is extremely difficult (so I am finding out) after watching Kristin and Paige going nuts for weeks trying to find us a new space to call home, creating a budget, and looking for small business loans/grants. After working at the Garnet Café for ten years, it’s very difficult for me to watch them stress and struggle knowing that since Covid, money is already tight and now having to move in less than TWO months, right after the holiday season could be detrimental to the business.

Now for the good news! They found a new home for us! The new spot has more seating, a much larger waiting room, a bigger kitchen and prep space, and a storage room for all the fresh Garnet goods! It also has a huge parking lot and in a great location! Hopefully some lending will come through, but the Garnet has an immediate need for cash to start this process as our move date is January 2022.

For this GoFundme, I am aiming high as the monies will go directly to the cost of moving the business, some kitchen equipment, first/last and deposit on the new space, and payroll to retain and feed the families of our Garnet crew of 20 for an entire month, possibly more. As you know, these things really add up so any additional funds would not go unused!

So…I really, really want to help them! I can serve, clean and organize, brainstorm, and help plan… I can even give some money… But not enough. They’ve already spent some money, but it’s not enough.

If you can’t or don’t, we love you. If you can, we love you.

Because, no matter what, we’re here to LOVE PEOPLE, AND FEED THEM GOOD FOOD.
