Hi, I'm Gillian and one of the Admins for Save Bosden Farm and Offerton's Greenbelt.
PLEASE help us! If we all pull together, we CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Local residents to Bosden Farm and Offerton are under a serious threat of MASS DESTRUCTION as a result of new Government proposals which, if passed, will re-classify some Greenbelt to Greybelt - allowing developers with deep pockets to completely rearrange our local landscape.
We're currently working to raise awareness of the proposals to completely decimate the greenspace that surrounds our immediate area. Greenbelt space that includes the fields Opposite Sanderling Road (behind the big layby - almost opposite the Golf Club), the fields at Cow Lane (back of Sainsburys in Hazel Grove running through to Bean Leach) and at Offerton Sand & Gravel.
If the proposals go ahead, hundreds upon hundreds of new houses will be built, completely destroying our countryside. There is no infrastructure in place or yet proposed to support any development. We are at risk of serious flooding. There will be increased traffic on roads which are already choked. Wildlife habitats will be destroyed, along with our health and wellbeing.... and that of our kids and future generations.
To allow us to raise awareness, we need to produce leaflets, banners, placards etc. Not everyone is on social media and it's no surprise that a lot of people are completely unaware of the new Government proposals. We need strength in numbers.
SMBC has opened a public consultation for the proposed Local Plan, and everyone can put forward their objections and recommendations to mitigate and potentially minimise the effects of any Development, if the Government Proposals are passed.
However much you are able to afford will be gratefully accepted to help us fund the campaign against this hideous attack on our Community.
Please join our Facebook Group 'Save Bosden Farm and Offerton's Greenbelt for help and guidance.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
In grateful anticipation of your help,
Gillian
