Please help Sabrina’s Family
Donation protected
Sabrina is a wife, sister, daughter, friend and mother to one beautiful little girl named Scarlett who is 2, and is currently pregnant with a second... I’ve known her only since Early this year but the person who I have gotten to know is such a beautiful soul. She radiates love and joy and has brought so much light into my life these last few months.
Recently Sabrina was definitively diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) is a rare, degenerative, invariably fatal brain disorder. It affects about one person in every one million people per year worldwide; in the United States there are about 300 cases per year. CJD usually appears in later life and runs a rapid course.... in Sabrina’s case it has appeared as early as her mid 30s. There is no cure for this disease and it will definitely claim her life. 90% of those affected will die within a year.
This disease has hit her fast, from the moment I met Sabrina to today I have witness it completely steal the person she is and completely break her body down. It is like she is physically present without being fully mentally present, and it will only get worse. By the end of it she will most likely have completely lost her mind and succumbed to Dementia.
Aside from being moral support the only other way I can think of to offer help to her family during this time is financially. Her poor husband Brent of course wants to take as much time off work to enjoy the time he has as a family. With a small toddler, usual life expenses and a upcoming funeral to pay for I want to try and relieve as much financial stress as I can, so he can just enjoy the time he has with his wife.
Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated.
