"No Megatowers at Safeway" need funds for leaflets

Please help "No Megatowers at Safeway" raise $2000 for our leaflet campaign.

Our ad hoc citizen's group is working hard to let folks in East Vancouver know about a Public Hearing coming up at Vancouver City Hall May 15 at 6pm.

We need to raise $2000 for leaflets which our volunteers will distribute in the neighbourhood.

The suites will not be affordable - they are proposed by Crombie Real Estate Investment Trust (Crombie REIT)

We want AFFORDABLE housing at the transit hub.

There is no non-profit, low-income, social or co-op housing in this 1044 suite building. Only 10% of the units will be offered at "average" rent- the rest will be full market suites.

Crombie REIT rents its units over at a sister project on Davie street for $3275-$3900 for a small one bedroom.

The massive towers will sit atop a giant big box Safeway store- 44, 38 & 37 storeys. This Burnaby Brentwood developments. A monolithic wall will face East Broadway.

Our neighbours have the right to know about this. Please help spread the word!
