Please help Lauren & Joe stay at their premature baby’s side
Premature baby Charlie was born at 24 weeks on 16.10.19. He was a micro-preemie, weighing only 680g and has already had life-saving surgery. He’s fighting to stay alive and his parents, Joe Dyer and Lauren Bryjka, need help so they can remain at his side.
Joe and Lauren have spent every day since Charlie’s birth at John Radcliffe Hospital. With no facilities for them to stay there beyond the first few nights, they spent a few weeks in a nearby B&B. This came with a financial impact so they made the distressing decision to return home to Milton Keynes and make the 2-hour round trip to the hospital every day.
They spend each day in the intensive care unit, continually learning about Charlie, his care and what the future could hold for them as a family.
Charlie is in a critical condition, so Lauren must express her breast milk every 2-3 hours a day at the hospital, giving Charlie the nutrients he needs for the best chance of survival. He will need further operations and is likely to be in hospital for another six months.
Not only is this situation emotional and exhausting for Lauren and Joe, it’s financially draining. Lauren will be on statutory maternity pay and Joe now has no income from his job as he’s used all his annual leave since Charlie’s birth.
We’ve started this Go Fund Me page, in hope we can raise funds to help them at this difficult time. We all love them so much and want to do everything we can to support them.
Joe and Lauren have hearts of gold and wouldn't ask for money from anyone. Kind and caring, they would do anything for their friends and now we want to do anything to help them.
Any donation, no matter how small, will be deeply appreciated.
Thank you for reading their story and for your help!
