My husband was outside jump-starting his car when a drunk driver crashed into him. It was sudden and violent. In a matter of seconds, everything we knew was taken from us.

The impact was devastating. He suffered catastrophic injuries, including the loss of his leg at the scene, multiple broken ribs, and severe damage to his pelvis and internal organs. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors fought desperately to save his life. He received 7 liters of blood, 2 liters of plasma, and 2 liters of red blood cells in an attempt to keep him alive.

Despite every effort, his body could not recover from the trauma.

He leaves behind two beautiful babies — a baby girl and a baby boy — and his wife, who is here on a student visa, now facing this unimaginable loss alone in a foreign country.

We are not only grieving the love of our lives, but also trying to understand how to move forward without him.
