Please Help Our Family Survive After 9 Spinal Surgeries

Hi, my name is Sammy. I’m a wife and mum to two beautiful daughters, and I’m putting my pride aside and asking for help for my family.
In October 2017, my husband Jake suffered a workplace injury. Since then, he has endured nine spinal surgeries and today, he lives as an incomplete paraplegic (limited use of his right leg).
For over six years, I have been the sole income earner in our home while Jake battles chronic pain and severe PTSD from traumatic hospital stays that kept him away from us for months at a time. He has no physiotherapy, no hydrotherapy, no psychological support — nothing.
We have fought through every system available to us.
WorkCover has refused to cover even basic necessities like pain medication, a wheelchair, or home modifications.
Lawyers have been involved for over six years and it is a constant battle that we are forever losing
The NDIS has repeatedly rejected Jake’s applications and we are now in Tribunal for this on top of court proceedings for Work Cover
Centrelink reduces most of his Disability Support Pension every fortnight because I work to make ends meet.
We are drowning.
I work 40 hours a week while paying for childcare, OSCH, school so I can keep working. We have one daughter in school and one in childcare. We are also in the process of having our daughter assessed for Autism, hoping it will allow us to continue accessing support through NDIS and potentially increase her limits to allow more time with her OT, Social Worker & Speech Therapist.
Despite doing everything we possibly can, our bank accounts are now in the negative.
We are asking for help with the absolute basics:
Food on our table
Paying essential bills
Fuel so I can continue getting to work
Childcare and OSCH costs
Jake’s medications
We have reached the limit of what we can do alone and I am feeling like an absolute failure of a wife, carer and mum! If you are able to donate, share, or even just send a kind word — it would mean more than you know. Every single contribution helps our family stay afloat!
