My dear daughter in law, Nicole Lee, is in the fight of her life. Recently diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer, she is now undergoing treatment at Mayo Cancer Center in Jacksonville, Florida.

The diagnosis came in South Carolina on the very weekend Nicole and her family were loading the moving van to start a new chapter in Jacksonville, where her husband, Jeremy, had begun a new job. What should have been a time of excitement and settling in quickly turned into a medical crisis.

Since arriving in Florida going on 8 weeks ago, Nicole has spent most of her time hospitalized. She is enduring daily pain and overwhelming exhaustion, and the emotional toll of her diagnosis is heavy. The initial chemotherapy was too harsh for her body, and doctors have since adjusted to a less aggressive regimen. Still, the side effects remain challenging.

Meanwhile, Jeremy and their son, Driver, are doing their best to hold things together—slowly unpacking their home and adjusting to their new surroundings—all while facing the heartbreak of Nicole’s illness.
