Hello to my friends and family. 2025 has been a complicated year for Nathan and me.

In March, I started experiencing lower back pain. While the pain started out as intermittent, by April, I was in constant pain. In June after school was done for the year, I began treating my back. Over the course of the next three months, nothing remedied the extreme pain in my back. I've been on temporary disability since August 4. This means that I have not been able to be at my job as an instructional assistant at skyline high school. A job that I very much love. Finances have been a struggle, thus far. But we've been making it work. On Monday, September 23 was admitted to the hospital via the emergency room as experiencing complete leg numbness, which, at the time I thought was due to my back pain. After blood work, a full body, MRI, and a spinal tap it was determined that I have a rare autoimmune disorder called Gullian Barre. What started as numbness and weakness in my legs, has been complicated to include total paralysis of my legs, numbness and weakness in my hands and arms up to my elbows, full numbness in my abdomen, and the inability to relieve myself. It has been a harrowing, humbling, stressful, overwhelming and demeaning experience. At the present time, I am in the intensive care unit at Winchester Memorial I will be released to inpatient rehabilitation. This will be to try to, learn to walk and gain my independence back. The treatment that I'm currently on, it's supposed to be successful, however, rehabilitation could take several months to up to a several years.

This means that, after my temporary disability runs out, I will be most likely looking at other options, such as permanent disability: Meaning, that I will lose my livelihood, my ability to financially provide for my son, Nathan. I am his primary caregiver, and for those that you don't know, he is high functioning autistic, and does require an extra helping hand on a regular basis. We are headed for a rough time. I'm scared that I have lost the ability to be able to feed the parent that my son needs me to be. I am also worried about our financial situation.

Those of you that know me really well, know that it's not something that I take lightly would never ask anybody for financial help, but I have to do what's best for my son, and right now, our finances are limited at best.
