My sister and niece have fallen on incredibly hard times. Recently, someone stole every dollar of their life savings — money my sister worked tirelessly to earn and save over the past 30 years. In an instant, everything she built to protect her family’s future was taken away.

She now has only a few hundred dollars to her name and is struggling to afford even basic necessities like groceries, gas, doctors and medications. She has always been one of the most hardworking, responsible, and selfless people I know — the kind of person who would give to others without hesitation, and who would never ask for help unless it was absolutely necessary.

Now, she’s facing something no one should have to go through — trying to start over from nothing while still caring for her daughter.
