Please help my ohana after this tragedy

Aloha kākou,

My name is Kristie Kamakaokalani-Hoohuli.

And those of you who know my ohana, we are never ones to ask for anything. If you needed help they would be there for there friends and family, even if you needed someone to watch your keiki’s they will be there. But this time we are reaching out to our family, friends and community..

As you all know my brother in law (my sisters husband) Justin Luna was is a tragic freak accident on Tuesday August 1st on Makawao Ave on Maui, when that huge tree had fallen right onto his truck while he was driving, and thankfully it missed his cab falling heavily on the hood and the bed of his truck.

No one knows whose tree that belonged too, and a cousin of ours who lives in that area has been asking the county from 2015 to cut that tree down cause he knew the dangers and damage it would cause and all the county told him was they cant do anything unless its harming the public or obstructing any county property. So no help from the state or county. But more so now since they are now dealing with a bigger issue for our Lahaina community, so we don’t know how long it will be till my family will get help or even any answers from the state and county.

We are thankful and blessed to still have my brother in law here with us in flesh & only suffered cuts, bruises and a few fractures. But there bills are piling up as he was the bread and butter for my sister and their 5 kids.

Justin is at home recovering from his accident and wont be released to go back to work until released from the doctors and 110% healed.

Anything will help my ohana thru this difficult time. If can can if no can no worries..
