Hi everyone please take the time to read my mum's story. On the 12th of March my mum was sent to A&E after a last minute appointment to the opticians. She had been showing balance, memory and visual problems and wasn't herself. The amazing optician suspected a stroke and sent us straight to a&e. We had previously visited the gp but they assumed it was dementia.
After a long 11 hours in a&e we finally learned that my mum has a mass on the brain. A few days later we found out that she has a glioblastoma. This is an aggressive, cancerous brain tumour. They cannot operate on it because of the size and where it is located in the brain. This means that all they can do is try to extend her time with treatment. Unfortunately even with treatment the prognosis is less than a year . Obviously we are all heartbroken and devastated but my mum is being strong and positive. She wants to fight as much as she can.
My sister was due to get married in 2023 and has already paid a lot of money towards the wedding so it's not as easy as cancelling and doing the registry office. Had the wedding been in 2023 she could have continued paying in installments.
My mum's last wish is to be able to see my sister get married (as none of us are married so she hasn't had this opportunity yet). We are able to bring the wedding forward to July but will struggle with paying the cost in the space of 3 months.
I know that everyone is struggling at the moment and not everyone can afford to donate in these tough times. If people could find it in their hearts to share the page it only takes a second ❤️.
We have been blown away with the kindness we have received so far and we will definitely be paying it forward in the future.
If you can share please do ❤️
I never in a million years thought I would have to post about something like this or ask for help like this

Thank you
