Please Help My Mom Relocate For Medical Care And Stability
Donation protected
Hi, lovelies. I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my mom, who has been going through an incredibly challenging time. Since June, she’s been unable to work due to chronic pain and new symptoms that keep her from returning to work. She’s been on medical Employment Insurance, but her benefits have now run out, and she’s completely out of resources—her bank account, credit cards, and savings are all maxed.
My mom is facing the loss of her home on Salt Spring Island because she can no longer afford the rent. To access essential care and reduce the heavy costs of travel, she needs to move off the island to be closer to specialists. The frequent trips to appointments, despite some transportation support, have been financially and physically overwhelming.
In November, she has appointments with specialists who we hope can provide answers and a path forward. Temp relocating is crucial, not only to ease the financial strain but also to ensure she has closer access to medical care. My mom has always been so strong for me, and now I’m asking for help so she can find the support and stability she needs.
Many people in the community may remember my mom as the bright, friendly face behind the coffee cart in Fulford. She cherished every moment spent there, getting to know each person who stopped by. She truly loved the community and felt so much joy in serving as a friendly presence for everyone who came through. The connections she made there brought so much light into her life, and it’s her hope that, with the right support, she’ll be able to return someday to the place and people she holds so dear.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will go toward helping her with moving expenses, basic living costs, and ongoing medical needs. If you’re unable to donate, even sharing this page would mean the world to us.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my mom’s journey and for any support you can offer. We are truly grateful.
