Please say a prayer for the Carrasco family! As friends of theirs we know that this man and his family love Canada. We are now asking for your help in this fight to keep this family together in Canada. Please read the families’ story below and if you are able to contribute to “Go Fund Me”, it would be greatly appreciated. even the smallest donation will make a difference which will help raise money for a lawyer to help Jamie with his case.
For the last 33 years in Canada, Jaime Carrasco Varela (61) has had to endure the stresses of being torn away from his family as he faces deportation year after year.
He would leave behind his wife (Jamilet 54), his children (Javier 35, Derek 31, Abigail 30, Gabriel 28 and Ana 26), daughter in-law (Saxxon 34), his two granddaughters (robbing them both of an opportunity to build a relationship and spend time together.
The Government of Canada would be further taking away the ability for Jaime to provide for his family, robbing him of the ability to share milestones and create memories, things we cherish most with our loved ones. His wife Jamilet, who is Canadian, would be forced to choose between being there for her husband or being in Canada for her children and more importantly grandchildren. A choice no mother should ever have to make!
Jaime has been a model citizen and contributing member of the community throughout his life in Canada. Volunteering his time with new families who have just arrived in Canada, as a Pastor and counsellor, all the while working long days and raising a family on a single income.
If Jaime were to be deported, the government believes it would be removing a risk, but it would be tearing a Canadian family apart.
These kinds of situations come with extreme consequences, both financially and emotionally. Our hope is that with any financial assistance that you may be able to provide today, would help to pay lawyers to continue fighting for Jaime and disprove the false allegations the government has chosen to believe about Jaime. In the event that that Jaime is removed, the funding would assist with the continued legal fight in Canada, but also assist him with reestablishing himself wherever he may end up outside of Canada.
Jaime needs to be granted permanent residency and a path to Canadian citizenship. The Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada, Mr. Marc Miller, has the ability to grant this. As Canadians we ask that Immigration Canada not destroy this family that has been fighting this battle for far too long.
We have been greatly supported by our extended family, friends, local enforcement officials, Ontario community MP’s around Ontario and our local MP Mike Morrice. We are now asking for your help in this fight to keep our family together.
Thank you,
The Carrascos
