Please help my family buy our home

Donation protected

My name is Jacqueline and I’m a single mom to three pretty awesome kids and quite a few furbabies (of the feline variety). In two months (end of June) my landlord is going to evict me and my kids (Autumn, Connor & Lukas) from our home of 11+ years. He wants to sell the house and needs us to move out so he can get it ready to list.

Unfortunately, we don’t have a back up plan. We live paycheck to paycheck. We have no savings and with the cost of inflation the past year, and increase in rent/utilities we have been struggling to keep food on the table for ourselves and our beloved cats… As for moving, we can’t afford a moving truck, let alone another home to rent (first month, last month and security deposit)… but even if we could come up with those funds, we can’t find another rental that would allow us to bring all of our cats (most were born from two mother cats that lived in our backyard, and yes we have finally spayed & neutered all our kitties and their hard to catch momma’s). Our cats are bonded to one another, as well as to us. Karma’s kittens were mostly solo litters and older siblings helped raise younger siblings- it was beautiful to experience. The cats are very much members of our family. We need to stay with them, and them with us. Some of you may be familiar with some of our cats Kong, Wily, Hobbes, Bowie, Amunet, Loki, Odin, Grim, Kitten & the rest of the gang. We love them all. I should mention that we have a couple of strays that I care for outside too. Grandfather and Jet are dependent on me for vet care, food, water and monthly flea treatments. I don’t know what would become of them if we moved out…

I moved around a lot as a kid and as a young adult. I lived with different family members, I lived at a motel for five months (celebrated my 18th birthday while living at the Patio Court), and when I was homeless I lived out of my car… I don’t want that for my kids. I have strived to do better for my children, I wanted them to have the stability I did not have. When we moved to our home in 2011, it was only supposed to be for a year, but obviously life had different plans. Connor & Luke have spent more than half their lives here, Autumn just about half her life. This home is the longest I have lived anywhere in my 44 years… we have beautiful memories here, and this house has been our sanctuary through the bad times too…

Autumn is part of the LGBTQ community & recently found her dream job last year as a baker. She hopes to open her own bakery one day. And her artistic talents are incredible. Connor was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis a couple years back and despite that, started his first job last year and loves it, and his coworkers. He recently got a promotion and I couldn’t be more proud. Both their employers are close to our home, which helps keep the cost of gas down. Luke is a senior in high school and he’s on the volleyball team (made it every year since 8th grade). He hopes to attend college in the fall and wants to major in computer programming… the kids love the area we live in and they have countless friends here.

Our hearts have found our home, though our wallets can’t provide. This GFM is our only chance to prevent us from becoming homeless and losing everything, and each other in June. We are hoping that we can raise the funds to buy the house from our landlord, and stay here with a roof over our heads and to keep our entire family together.
Please find it in your hearts to help us make our dream of buying our home a reality, we want nothing more than to stay together in our home. No donation is too small, and we will be eternally grateful.
