Please help my brother come home
Donation protected
I am setting up this fundraising page with an extremely heavy heart. My brother Jason Aldridge travelled to Thailand off the back of recommendations. When Jason arrived, he was arrested and held in holding cells for 48 hours until he was transferred to prison, where he has been for the past 3 weeks. The offence Jason is being charged with could mean he could face up to 10 years imprisonment. For legal reasons this is all I can state at present however please email me for further details. As you can imagine this is one of the worst things a family could go through. We have an amazing solicitor who is working all the hours he can to get Jason a suspended sentence, to have him home for Christmas.
As a family we underestimated the costs of this case. So far, my family have paid £10,000 in legal fees. We are applying for bail which is £26,000. This means Jason can be released from prison; however, he will have to stay in Thailand until his court hearing, which can take up to 84 days. Therefore, we will have to pay for accommodation and living expenses for this duration. I have been told if Jason receives a suspended sentence, he will need to a pay a fine in order for him to come home. This could be sum of up to £12,000 which we need to have ready to pay on the day of his hearing.
The above DOES NOT include the expense my Dad has paid so far for flights, accommodation, loss of earnings and living expenses whilst being in Thailand for the past 3 weeks supporting Jason.
If Jason doesn’t receive a suspended sentence and has to serve time in prison we will also have to re appeal and keep trying all we can to get him home.
Close friends of Jason and I have asked I start this page so they can help donate and circulate, to try and take the immense amount of financial pressure off my family. Jason has already served 3 weeks in a Thailand prison, daily, the costs are rising.
Jason is physically well however emotionally and mentally he is deteriorating daily, which is fully expected in this situation.
I am scared and worry about my brother as any little sister would. I know he is holding himself together to be strong for my family so I feel like I have to be strong for him. I can not even put into words the pain this is causing my family and I hope no other family ever has to go through this.
Any of you that know Jason, will know how kind, genuine, outgoing, caring and lovable he is. We are so grateful and appreciate any help that can be received. Any donation is going to have such a massive impact, and as a family, we will always be eternally grateful
