Please help Mrs. Cosgrove

Hi,
We all know and love Mrs. Cosgrove. She has been so wonderful and caring to all of our children. We can help her now.
She was scammed by devious people who told her that her loved ones were in trouble. Please see the story written by her daughter in law.
Let’s be the great community we are and help her recover from this awful hoax.
She received a call that my husband(her son) and I were involved in an accident. We hit a pregnant woman, my husband was on his cell, and I was not wearing a seatbelt. "My husband" called her crying for help and spoke to her for about 10 seconds before the "police officer" took over the convo.
The officer said I was taken to the hospital and in surgery, and my husband was being held. He then gave my MIL the number for the "court appointed attorney" and told her to call him. Being super upset at the horrific story they painted, she didn't think to call us to verify.
She called the "attorney" and he told her she needed money for bail. She had to go to the bank and withdraw a very large sum, and if asked by the bank what it was for, she was to tell them it was for a contractor.
She came home and called the "attorney" who said he was sending a "bondsman" for the pickup. He stayed on the phone until the black Honda crx or crv pulled up to her home, and she walked the money out to the driver who happily took it.
She then received another call from the "attorney" that the pregnant lady lost the baby and this would require more bail money.
By this point my SIL had called me and we figured out the scam, so she told them she called the cops. We didn't hear back from them and we did file a report with Yonkers PD.
Awful, awful. Tell your older loved ones to ALWAYS CHECK BY CALLING THE PERSON WHO THE SCAMMERS SAY IS IN TROUBLE.
Any amount would be greatly appreciated!!
Let’s show Mrs. Cosgrove our love!!
