This fundraiser was set up on behalf of Mohammed, his wife Islam, and their three young children. Mohammed and I know each other for a long time now, and every cent raised is transferred directly to him and his family to help cover the extremely high cost of living in Gaza. Once the border crossings reopen, the funds raised will be used to help them leave the Gaza Strip.

My name is Mohammed, and I work as a neonatal nurse in the nursery department at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Gaza. For years, I have dedicated my life to caring for the most fragile lives—newborns, premature babies, and infants under one year old. Even during the Israeli aggression, I worked tirelessly around the clock to ensure these vulnerable newborns received the care they desperately needed. I’ve seen firsthand how even in the darkest moments, the resilience of the human spirit shines brightest through the innocent smiles of these tiny miracles.
Today, I turn to you, not just as a nurse, but as a husband and father. My wife, Islam, and I have three beautiful children—Adam (3 years old), Hussein (6 years old), and Amira (9 years old). Like so many families in Gaza, we have lost everything during the recent conflict. Our home was reduced to rubble, and with it, all the essentials we worked so hard to provide for our children.
The challenges we now face are overwhelming. Rebuilding our lives feels like an impossible task, but we believe in the power of compassion and community to help us start anew.
What your support will achieve:
- Leaving the Gaza Strip: Unfortunately, the borders remain closed and, when they were open, leaving the Gaza Strip was associated with high costs. The money raised will help us cover part of these expenses and begin anew somewhere in peace.
- Providing essentials: Everything we owned—clothing, furniture, school supplies, and basic necessities—has been lost. Your generosity will help us replace these items to meet our family’s everyday needs.
- Getting our children back to school: Amira, Hussein, and Adam deserve a chance to continue their education and rebuild their futures. Your help will ensure they have the supplies, uniforms, and stability needed to return to school with dignity, when possible.
- Supporting my work: Stability at home will allow me to continue my work as a nurse, caring for the most vulnerable babies in our community. This is not just about rebuilding my family—it’s about giving back to a community that is struggling together.
Why now?
This moment is critical. The Israeli aggression is worsening by the day. There’s barely any food left, and when you do find some, the cost is prohibitively high. If we have to leave at a moment’s notice, we’ll need funds to start anew and survive without any of our belongings. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to safety, stability, and hope.
