“The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He wills. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower”. 2: 261
This initiative is to try and help ease the burden that has befallen a mother and her son. Mohamed Amin is a beautiful 10 year old boy we believe to be on the Austim spectrum and also suffers from seizures. Unfortunately, doctors in is homeland of Burco, Somalia aren’t in the position to successfully diagnose nor treat his condition. He is non- verbal, highly behavioural, and overall a flight risk. He unintentionally self harms and others around him. He is completely dependent on others when it comes to self dressing, bathing/toileting, and overall personal upkeep.
His mother has recently become the sole provider and parent to her son with the help of her cousin. She herself suffers from undiagnosed mental health issues that is starting to hinder her ability to provide financially and emotionally for her son. They are currently living outside in the backyard of a charitable family. As a single mother with a special needs child, this offers them safety and protection especially at night. This is not a long term solution. Nearly half of children with autism spectrum disorder have a tendency to wander. More than half of these wandering children go missing and often get into dangerous situations. It is extremely difficult to prevent a child from wandering when you are homeless. The goal is for mother and son to have a safe place that they can call home.
The funding being raised breaks down as follows:
The construction of his home ( land has already been successfully bought and put under the mother and child’s name)
Beds
Food
Clothes
Medical supplies
Additional security features to be added on house (gate locks etc.)
Dear brothers and sisters, I urge you to please give what you can. Please remember no amount is ever too little. I thank you all for your efforts and pray that Allah swt rewards you all with the highest level of His Jannah ameen.
