Please help Mike to replace his E-Bike & secure our home

Hi, I'm Leanne, Mike's wife and I'm here to do something that any of you that know Mike will know, he wouldn't want me to do because he is the most independent, self-reliant person I know.

In the early hours of Tuesday 18th March some absolute scum of the earth broke into the garden and garage of our family home in Chudleigh and stole 2 E-Bikes. His Orbea Wild was up for sale at the time as he had replaced it in December with a new AMFLOW which he described as his 'dream bike' and was spec'd to perfection.

Mike has always and will always work his absolute arse off to provide for our family and this was his ultimate hobby and escape from the everyday stresses of life and running our own business.

Mountain biking got him through some super tough times mentally since being diagnosed with Toxoplasmosis in June 2022 which resulted in him losing 80% of the sight in his left eye. Toxoplasmosis is a parasite which never leaves your body, it lays dormant but has the potential to return and affect his right eye at any time.

As one bike was for sale, sadly only one was insured so there is a huge deficit between what might be received from the insurance and the amount still owed on the AMFLOW finance, not including the cost of a replacement.

In addition to all of the above, as a family we now no longer feel safe in our own home which means that we need to also invest in an alarm system for the house & garage along with CCTV.

I absolutely know that times are hard for everyone at the moment but anything you are able to spare, no matter how big or small will be appreciated so much and will help towards purchasing a new bike and security to help us feel safe again.

Mike also has a MTB holiday with his mates to Andorra already booked for the summer which is also now hanging in the balance with the prospect of loosing yet more money.

The awful humans who do things like this have absolutely no idea of just HOW far the pain travels. Our kids crying themselves to sleep at night and Toby even offering to give up his skateboarding lessons so that dad can save the money to help him get a new bike! Heartbreaking on every level!

We have some family time booked in a few weeks and my god, do I feel like we need it now more than ever!
