Please Help Me Save Lewisham Young Leades Academy! (LYLA)
Hi, my name's Aaron, and I'm 14 years old.
On May 17th, I will be participating in a sponsored walk to raise money for (LYLA)
A place that, for me, means education and a safe place to go on Saturday, where people of African and Caribbean descent can learn, develop a strong knowledge of self, raise aspirations, improve self-esteem, thrive, and embrace their culture and excel in life.
LYLA teaches us to become leaders, entrepreneurs, role models. It provides us with communication, presentation, debating skills as well as interview techniques, and various career skills, which are rarely taught in mainstream schools.
We've had opportunities to meet real entrepreneurs and CEOs, a window into businesses, and career introductions that many of us would never have considered.
LYLA has given me self-confidence, I am now participating in more and more events and have made countless friends since starting over 4 years ago.
Sadly, due to numerous funding cuts, LYLA may have to close its doors forever. Then, young leaders like myself and future young leaders may never get the opportunity to reach our full potential.
Please donate whatever you can - every little bit helps! - Thank you so much for supporting us.
