Hi, my name is Jennifer, and I am raising funds to care for my little sister, Leah.
Leah has been courageously fighting glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. After exhausting treatment options, her treatment is no longer working, and she has now been placed on hospice care. Her wish is to remain at home, surrounded by familiarity, comfort, and love.
This is incredibly hard for me. I have never felt pain like this. I have worked in the medical field for 35 years and have taken care of hundreds of people, but now I want to take care of just one more — my sister.
Leah has always been a constant in my life — steady, supportive, and loving in ways that often went unspoken. Being able to care for her now is a privilege I don’t take lightly, and it is my way of honoring the love and presence she has given me throughout my life.
To make this possible, I will need to temporarily take a leave of absence from my job and relocate three hours away to be with her full time. During this time, I will not have an income, yet I will still need to cover basic living expenses, travel costs, and ongoing bills.
Funds raised will help cover:
Lost income while I am on leave from work
Travel and relocation expenses
Basic living costs so I can focus fully on Leah’s care
Your support will allow me to be present with Leah during this incredibly meaningful and difficult time without the added burden of financial stress. Most importantly, it will help honor her wish to remain at home, where she feels safest and most at peace.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Whether you are able to donate or share this fundraiser, your kindness and compassion mean more than words can express.
With gratitude,
Jennifer
