Please help me fundraise for Cambodia 2026 - Jonty Atkins

Hi, my name is Jonty Atkins. I'm 14 years old.

I’ve been given an amazing opportunity for the trip of a lifetime to go to Cambodia for 4 weeks in the summer of 2026 with my school and Camps International.

I will be getting stuck into vital community project work and I'm really looking forward to going and contributing to another community across the world and knowing I've made a real difference to their lives.

Cambodia remains one of the poorest countries in the world.

Seasonal food shortages and lack of employment opportunities leave rural people vulnerable to continued and increased poverty.

Food, water, and shelter are essentials to everyone's everyday life, but many families in the Cambodian communities live without them.

I will be giving my all to help local communities as much as I can by working alongside locals to make these improvements possible.

I'm asking for any contribution you can make towards my cause, no matter how big or small, it will all help get me to Cambodia to make much needed improvements they need which we take for granted.

Whilst there I will be living alongside rural communities and undertaking community project work to improve the lives of local people.

During my 4 weeks i will be helping with:

-Building wells to provide drinking water and water for irrigation.

-Building toilets to provide better sanitation for the community.

-Working on school improvement projects to create inspirational and stimulating learning environments.

-Building chicken coops for food security.

-Taking part in reforestation work.

-Constructing village clay water pots to maximize water collection.

I am so excited to have this opportunity and hope the experience will enable me to gain self confidence and important life skills such as leadership, communication, team building, independence and problem solving.

During this amazing expedition I will spend lots of time with the local community learning about the history of Cambodia and even tutoring and helping the local children with their learning.

Not only will I be rewarded with gaining skills and knowledge from local individuals in which I will never forget and treasure for a life time. I have the opportunity to experience Cambodian culture.

To get there I will be holding a variety of fundraising activities whilst also revising for my GCSEs. I am asking if you are able to donate, please give as little or as much as you can.
