Please help Logan regain a sense of normalcy,

My name is Lori Richards, I am the mother of the child you see in the picture.

In September of 2023, my son was diagnosed with PNES (Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures). Since September of 2023, I watched my son go in and out of the hospital, to needing a full time adult with him for his safety at school, then not even able to attend school full time.

In March of this year, I learned my son was carrying the burden of a mother’s worst nightmare. The result of this is devastating.

My son has been not only diagnosed with PNES, but Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Severe Anxiety, and FND (Functional Neurological Disorder). This is all caused by trauma.

For my son’s health and safety it has been determined by his specialist that he needs the support of a therapy dog.

Last week, my son was pulled out of the water while swimming with his lifeguard friends and sent by ambulance to the hospital having 9 seizures due to PNES. Today,he seized 6 times on the floor in the middle of a restaurant, he seized numerous times in the ambulance and was flown by helicopter to Children’s Hospital due to PNES.

Today I decided that asking for help getting a therapy dog was the right thing to do. This is very costly, and any help would be a blessing.

I was able to put a deposit on a boy who will join our family in August. The dog will go through lots of training and will be task oriented to my son’s need.

I will do what’s right for my son, and in the end I will not stop fighting for the justice he deserves.
