Please Help little Oakley and her family
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Kristy. And this is 7 week old Oakley, she is my niece.
On October 15th she was admitted into ICU and diagnosed with RSV with an oxygen saturation of only 83%. She was started on nebulizer treatments, but they sent her heart rate into the 200's. So doctor's decided early Sunday morning to sedate and intubate because she had worked so hard. At times they have given her paralytic medication to keep her from moving at all. As of Thursday October 20th, the doctors say it will be 3 to 5 days before they will consider weaning her off of the ventilator. They will also have to wean her from all of the medications used to keep her comfortable with methadone and Valium because of the length of time she was on them. We have been warned that during this time, babies forget how to do things on their own, such as eat. So her recovery time can be up to 2 to 3 weeks, totaling a month in ICU.
This has been terribly hard for Josh and Britney, but also hard for their 2 older boys Kaeson and Kallum. The boys normal life has been flipped upside down. Mom is at the hospital and Dad used any remaining PTO hours, but has now had to return back to work.
What we are asking for is to help make it possible for Josh to take some extra time off of work. To be able to be there for Britney and their babies without stressing about work. Josh works hard to provide for his family. He and Britney would never ask for a handout for anything from anyone. It has really taken some hard work to convince them to let us start this GO FUND ME.
We would like to help relieve any stress we possibly can. And help Kaeson and Kallum be as comfortable as they can be while their sister fights her way home.
If you know Britney and Josh, you know how great they are. You know that they are the BEST parents to Kaeson, Kallum and Oakley. Please help us show them that they have a community of people who love them. And that we are here to help them focus on Oakley's recovery and maintaining a sense of normalcy for Kaeson and Kallum.
Thank you so very much for taking the time to read our story. And for any donation you can give. Wishing blessings to you and yours!
