My name is Lillian Christine Price. I am nine years old and I attend Highland Park Elementary School, in Columbia, Tennessee. I have been personally nominated by one of my teachers, Mrs. Angela Secrest to represent my school and community at a week-long National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Pathways to STEM at Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, GA in July 2017.
Selling Girl Scout Cookies
I have been a Girl Scout for five years and will be earning my Bronze Award, I've been in my school choir for two years, Taekwondo for one and half years and I'm currently a two-striped Green Belt, Discovery Bible Club for one and half years, Cross Country for one year, Art Club for one year, and I'm also a charter member of the school STEM club this year, where I learned coding and made a Christmas themed Video Game . I was involved in Camp Invention in summer of 2016, where I enjoyed many STEM activities daily.
Taekwondo
Attending this program will enable me to further my interest in the field of Science and reach my career goals of becoming an Engineer. Imagine if you had been given this opportunity for a life-changing experience when you were in school and were unable to participate for lack of funds; which is why I am asking for your sponsorship help today.
My participation in the program depends on whether I can raise $2,766.00 in sponsorships; which includes the total costs of tuition, my travel to and from the program, and the total costs of uniforms. I wrote an essay and won a $500.00 scholarship through Envision. That leaves me with a balance of around $2,000.00, and I’m hoping you will consider assisting me with some of these costs by sponsoring me in this experience.
