Please help keep M.A.X open!

We need HELP!!

I am heartbroken to inform you that there is a possibility that we will have to close our doors before the school year ends as we will run out of operating funds. Thus, for the immediate future, we are seeking donations.

What are we trying to do?

We need to raise money. We have come up with various ideas to keep our program open and to balance the budget so that we are never faced with this issue again.

· We are seeking donations and they are tax deductible. M.A.X. is an IRC 501 (c) (3) charitable organization and we will provide receipts with the required information for record keeping. Also please check if your company matches donations.

· Fundraising! We are planning on a Bingo night. Please consider donating prizes. We are also open to any fundraising ideas.

· Implementing a new program (Concierge M.A.X.) to bring in new families who may need M.A.X. as a backup to other childcare plans.

· Restructuring tuition for all of our programs.

What happened?

Due to COVID, our enrollment is down by more than half. Although we have seen a slight increase in attendance, we have not reached pre-pandemic levels of enrollment. Many Manhasset families are still working from home.

During the pandemic, due to the uncertainty of the times, and to ensure we had available vetted staff in the future, we continued to pay our dedicated M.A.X. staff by using our savings. Although inflation has raised prices across all sectors in the economy, our tuition increase was minimal. These factors are why we are in debt and currently running a deficit.

What makes M.A.X. so special?

· M.A.X. offers a safe environment: Our staff is screened and fingerprinted by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). They take a minimum of 15 hours per year of training classes in Early Education and Training programs. Most of the staff are certified in MAT, First Aid and CPR.

· No more homework wars! We offer homework help and will provide additional assistance to work with your child and their teacher if necessary.

· We are always here and available during no-class days and school vacations.

· We offer various activities, games, and crafts for the children when homework is done.

· It’s an instant play date. The children form wonderful friendships within the M.A.X. family.

We want to be transparent. We are in a deficit of $110,000 and our doors may need to close at the end of February if we cannot raise additional funds. We have reached out to various charitable organizations for donations, if we cannot raise funds, we will need to charge up to $1700 per child to keep the program open through the end of the school year.

I have been with the M.A.X. program for over thirty years. I truly care for all of the families. I keep in touch with so many of my former students and families. Many have come back to work for me at M.A.X. Please help keep this program going!!!
