Please help Jonathan take care of his siblings.

Hello, my name is Rachael and I'm fundraising for Jonathan and his family. Today Jonathan is in shock because he lost all of his income. Today is payday and he didn’t get paid, he probably won’t until December, if at all. His wages were garnished to pay off his late fathers social security overpayment debt. He will contest and go before social security. But at the moment, he still needs to find a way to care for his siblings, whom he recently adopted. After adopting his brother and sister he has been made liable for his late fathers debt.

There is more to the story. In 2021 Johnathan's father passed away, leaving his two minor siblings in the custody of his stepmother. She is a homeless addict who bounces around between hotels and abandon houses. She was living this lifestyle with his two younger siblings after his father passed. In December 2022 she managed to evade CPS. Johnathan begged to see his brother and sister, to have them for the holidays. She gave in and on December 7, 2022 he picked them up. They have been living with him ever since.

Both children have come a long way since he took control of their care. Scarlette was five and Scotty eleven when they came to live with him. At that point they had never been in school. They were living in an abandoned house with no running water, heat or electricity. They didn’t even know how to use toilet paper.

Scotty has autism. Scotty and Scarlette both lovingly call Jonathan "bro-dad". Through Jonathans loving "bro-dad" care his autistic little brother was able to pass the sixth and seventh grades. Scotty was also able to complete summer school and catch up on his academic learning. Scarlette graduated kindergarten and is now soaring above reading levels for first grade. He has them both in therapy twice a week.

Jonathan became their official guardian in April 2023. He is a super sale shopper doing everything he can to give these two children the life they deserve. I’m happy to say they are all thriving. But they need your help. We are asking for your support so that he can continue to provide a stable home, healthy food, a good education and therapy for his two sibling kids.

It is my sincere hope that you will find it in your heart to donate to this loving family.

If you would like to learn more about how social securities mistakes can end up becoming your financial burden watch this news article by Anderson Cooper. It shows the plight of other Americans who fist have their social security checks revoked then are forced to pay back exorbitant amounts of money in past "overpayments." Social security made the mistake of overpayment then leaves people destitute when stopping payments and forcing repayment. There is no financial incentive for a lawyer to take the case up against social security so most people in this situation are left with no options. Jonathan is left with no option now but to ask for community support. He relied on those social security checks to support his family. Now that social security has suddenly stopped providing the support he relies on he is left as of today, the sixth of the month, without his rent payment.

In the short term we need your help to fund his rent, provide food and necessities for his two sibling kids. In the long term he would like to raise enough money to get his piece of the American dream. To buy a house and with that house the security and stability that his family needs.

Thank you for reading this. Thank you for sharing this and thank you for your support!
