**10/2 UPDATE**The basement is now empty, with everything destroyed removed. Salvageable toys are being washed repeatedly in the dishwasher, while art, photo albums, and yearbooks are drying in the sun each day. She needs to do laundry, but so does the entire city. Some circuit breakers are working, but critical ones are still out, and there's still a boil water order in place. Both work and daycare remain closed until power and water are restored, with water estimated to take 'weeks.' Cell service is spotty, though it tends to be stronger in the evenings.
**9/30 UPDATE** Hollis has been sifting through the wreckage, but much of her area is still without power or water, and most businesses, including her PA job, remain closed. As a result, her income has been stymied, potentially for weeks. I've increased the goal to reflect her situation, but I’m happy to say that everyone’s generosity has touched her heart and alleviated some of the stress with so much uncertainty ahead. Thank you all!
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out on behalf of my sister Hollis and her four sweet boys: Cael, Nolan, Connor, and Finn. Recently, Hurricane Helene hit their area, and the surprise flooding completely destroyed her basement—taking everything with it. This included essential items like a fridge, freezer, washer, dryer, travel gear, and most of the boys’ belongings: clothes, toys, sports gear, and furniture. Particularly upsetting, a small library built over eight years of boys has been reduced to nothing.
Hollis is a single mother, and despite the many challenges she faces, she remains positive, strong, and dedicated to giving her boys the best life possible. Still, rebuilding after this devastation is overwhelming, and the cost is daunting.
We are raising funds to help cover the cost of replacing their belongings, lost wages, and restoring their home to a safe and happy environment for the boys. Every little bit helps, and we are grateful for any support you can offer, whether it’s a donation, a share, or just sending positive thoughts their way!
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.
Thanks,
Ricky/Freddie/Uncle Bro
