Please help for funeral expensed.

My name is Anita. My mother is recently on hospice. These past months have been very difficult for the family and my mother. She was recently diagnosed with renal failure and dementia. I have never had to deal with dementia, and let me tell you, this has been a long and emotional ordeal. I have some major health issues as well, but I needed to be there for my mother, so I have put my stuff aside so that I could be there for her.

About a month ago, my mother fell and broke her tailbone and ended up in the hospital, then to a nursing home. The nursing home she was in was really awful, so we had her released on home hospice. She was doing okay, and then one morning she fell again, cracked her forehead open, and broke her hip and pelvic bone. The doctors said they do not recommend surgery as her body would not be able to handle it, and if they put her under, she may not wake up. So she stayed in the hospital for a few weeks until they transferred her to a nursing home, and I had to make sure that this place would care for her. So she was transferred to the nursing home and has been there since. She seems to like it there more than any other ones she had been to.

Since she has been there, I have not been able to work, and I just found out I have some medical issues that prevent me from working. I am trying to raise money for future funeral expenses for my mother and myself. I did go to prepay for my mother's funeral expenses, and $12,000.00 is the minimal cost for services if you want a burial, which my mother wants. I was able to make the down payment, but the second payment is due and I don't have it all. I want to be cremated, which is a lot less, around $8,000.00. So right now, I'm trying to pay for the cost of our final expenses so that I don't have to stress about it and my boys don't have to go through what I am going through.

I am trying to get disability, but it is very hard to get approved. I will have to hire an attorney to help with that; they will work at getting me approved and only collect if I get approved. This season is a season to be grateful, and I am, but I'm really struggling to just get by. I have faith that things will get easier. I hate asking for help, but I do need it.
