My name is Mohammed, and I am humbly reaching out for help to save my family from being evicted. We have until 12/09/25 before we are forcefully removed from the only home we’ve ever known.

My parents have always given everything they could to support me and my younger brothers, despite facing many struggles of their own. Recently, a series of hardships—job losses, paired with my father’s battle with depression—has left us unable to keep up with rent. Now, the arrears have built up, and we are facing eviction.

What breaks my heart the most is seeing all the love and effort my parents have poured into turning our small one-bedroom apartment into a safe, warm, and loving home for me and my two younger siblings. They’ve worked tirelessly not just to provide for us, but to build a sense of belonging in a kind and welcoming community, forming friendships with neighbours and creating a home filled with care. I also worry deeply for my younger siblings—one beginning his second year at university, the other about to start college—at such a pivotal time in their education, and the thought of their lives being uprooted is unbearable. I’ve always believed that education shapes who we are, builds character, and opens the door to a brighter future—and I want the same opportunity for my siblings.

This matters to me because our home is where my family thrives. Without it, my younger brothers’ lives and my parents’ hard work would be uprooted overnight.

This is more than just a house—it is our safe space, our stability, and the foundation of everything we know.

I have reached out to family and friends and received some support, but as the deadline approaches, I am turning here for one last urgent plea. I’ve asked the council for leniency and requested a payment plan, but the only way to stop the eviction now is to pay the arrears in full.
