Charles Martin, Michael Mughannem, Doug Champion, and Brian Chase are personally asking each of you, as our trusted friends and family, to please help a loving and hard-working family in our Palm Springs community that is facing an urgent and unimaginable crisis. On Thursday, November 6, our friends Ezequiel and Jenny were forcibly taken into ICE custody. Jenny was pepper-sprayed, and their 11-year old son was left alone in the street unattended. They have never committed a crime, are hard-working taxpayers, and are loving, responsible parents. For those of you who have visited our home and our friends' homes in Palm Springs, you have also seen Ezequiel's talent with landscape design and maintenance. He truly brings beauty to everything he touches. Today Ezequiel is at risk of deportation to Mexico, leaving his wife and three children without a husband and father and their primary means of support. A close circle of Ezequiel's clients/friends are helping his family with their legal fees to provide the best possible representation. We have already funded retainers and initial costs outside of this fundraiser, but there is much more to do and a long road ahead. Any amount of money, no matter how small, will help. For those of you with larger resources, we ask that you please consider donating more generously. These funds are being carefully managed to address legal fees and court costs, as well as financial support for the family during this difficult time. I know that many of you felt helpless as you have watched similar stories unfold across the country. This is an opportunity to help.
Thank you.
