Hello, I'm trying to raise funds for my sweet nephew. He just turned 14 years old and what was supposed to be a happy time for him and his family turned into a nightmare. Last night Elijah and a friend decided to celebrate his birthday by going to a local skate park a few minutes away from his home to test out his new skate board that he had just received as a gift. Unfortunately he wasn't the only one that thought his new skate board was awesome. Him and his friend were approached by a group of 10-15 male teenagers that demanded Elijah hand over his skate board. After he refused they all ganged up on him and his friend and beat him to a pulp. Elijah ended up in the Emergency Room with a broken nose and broken teeth. He spent the whole night at the hospital. Luckily there was no internal damage. He has some major healing to do. Not just physically but also emotionally.
My goal is just to help restore Elijahs faith in humanity. He is one of the sweetest and kindest people you will meet. He makes friends wherever he goes and excels in school. It breaks my heart that he had to experience such violence at the hands of these monsters. We send our kids outside so they can play and be kids and then stuff like this happens and it makes you question humanity. This will never leave him and will be with him for the rest of his life. One can only hope that this will only make him stronger. But no child deserves to experience such pain and violence and no parent should ever have to see their child in such agonizing pain. He never got to fully celebrate his birthday and I want him to know that there truly are good people out there that care. Once he heals I want him to have a birthday party that he will always remember. Not one that he spent in the ER in a painful haze, but one where he's surrounded by love from his family and friends.
