Dear Friends and Family,

I'm reaching out to you today with a heavy heart but also with hope in my soul. My brother, Ruben, has been facing an incredibly challenging journey, and he needs our support now more than ever.

Just two years ago, Ruben moved to Australia with his husband, Tim, full of dreams and excitement for the future. However, life had other plans. Shortly after their move, Ruben was diagnosed with Kidney cancer and Tim developed Liver disease that turned their world upside down.

Despite the hardships, Ruben and Tim faced everything together with unwavering love and support. They were each other's rock through every doctor's visit, every treatment, and every setback. Unfortunately, during Ruben’s second cancer related surgery, his colon was perforated. This has resulted in an additional major health setback along with more required surgery to correct the issue. If that wasn’t enough, tragically, while taking steps towards getting a liver transplant, our family's world was shattered when Tim’s health rapidly declined resulting in him unexpectedly passing away in April of this year.

Now, Ruben finds himself in a situation where he needs to move back to the United States. Once there he will require additional surgery but will be able to have the support of our family during this difficult time of grieving and healing.

As you may imagine, the financial burden of moving continents is daunting, especially on top of the medical expenses he will be facing. That's why I'm turning to you, our community, for help.

Your donations will go directly towards covering the costs of Ruben's relocation, including travel expenses, shipping belongings, and securing a new place to live. Additionally, they will help alleviate some of the financial strain caused by his ongoing medical treatments and the loss of Tim's income.
